There is a Moose on the Loose! Moose is 10 months old and very much a big puppy. He is so sweet and lovable. Moose LOVES all people and other dogs too. He would enjoy a home with larger dogs that he can play with! There is a cat in his foster home that pesters sometimes, but he doesn’t harm her even when she stands up to him.
Moose was only 92 pounds when he came into SSGDR rescue but he is quickly putting on weight and is up to 110# now. Despite him being underweight, he has shown no food aggression and eats around the other dogs in his foster home with no issues. After eating, he enjoys lounging on the couch or in someone’s lap! He is house trained and does great in his crate when his foster parents leave. Moose happily sleeps soundly through the night on his dog bed but would gladly join you in the people bed if given the opportunity.
He known basic commands and is learning how to walk on the leash and not pull when he sees another dog. He is improving with the use of a leash harness. The biggest obstacle with Moose right now is he is very tall, therefore, his head is at counter level and all items on the kitchen counter are fair game. He loves paper towels, dishtowels, and food of any kind! Counter surfing is a past-time that his foster parents are working to curb. They are working on teaching him to “Leave It” and he is starting to learn and understand.
Moose has discovered that ice is delicious and will beg whenever he hears ice coming out of the fridge door. Fortunately, he has not learned to get it on his own. . . yet. 😉 This boy will make you laugh often with his antics and it is amazing the way he can contort his body to get on your lap.
